Casey Jamerson is another young female artist with bags of talent and an amazing voice. Casey comes from a small town near to Indiana in America and has been performing for many years; this self-titled album shows that Casey has all the qualities to make it big. The ballads on this album are out of this world and there are plenty of them on this album.
The opening track on this self-titled album, Miss You Already has a strong country feel to it. Casey’s voice is bold and strong; she certainly isn’t just another manufactured singer trying to make a name for herself in what is an already over-crowded market place. This is good quality stuff that deserves to be heard. Her vocals on this opening track remind me a little of the likes of Pam Tillis. There is a hint of bluegrass in both Casey’s vocal style and in the music on this opening track, which I feel will impress many listeners’ who prefer a more traditional style of country music.
Strong For You is starts off as a slower song, which allows Casey to show off a different side to her vocals. This is a lovely gentle ballad with a powerful chorus and striking lyrics. As the song progresses Casey steps up a gear as does the music, which takes on a life all of its own. This is an adorable power ballad and perhaps one of the best songs on the album.
She Is, the third track on the album, is a fast paced song which again has a strong country feel about it. This song is full of catchy lyrics and strong vocals. Some People Fall, Some People Fly has a pop/modern country feel to it. This is a lively song that listeners will quickly have their feet tapping a long to.
I Don’t Want To Be Right Now is one of those songs you just know is going to be great just by listening to the introduction and listeners will not be disappointed. This is another power ballad, which allows Casey to show off her full vocal talents. This is a beautiful song that really captures the listener’s heart.
Something In You starts off with a burst of frenzied music. This is a lively song that mixes country with pop. Casey has done a good job of mixing up the tracks on this album.
Don’t Underestimate My Heart has a much slower tempo than the previous song and slows the mood down once again. This is a great song with heartfelt lyrics and great musical backing. Fans of artists like Sara Evans and Martina McBride will enjoy this song.
Sometimes is another heartfelt song. Casey’s vocals are soft and mesmerizing and music is stripped right back for this track. This is another song that really hits the mark. Listeners will really feel the emotion Casey exudes whilst singing this delicate number.
Crazy Blonde Behind The Wheel is a rowdy number (hints of Miranda Lambert) and extremely fast paced. Casey proves here that she can really belt out a song and give it all that she has got and a bit more by the sounds of things. Although this song might not appeal to all listeners I think this is a great song, which is very catchy and effective. It really lifts the feel and mood of the album.
The album ends with another striking ballad called Open Arms. This is a magnificent track to end the album on. This is a truly amazing song, which Casey puts everything into. This song is full of emotion and passion. This is a truly wonderful song to end the album with although it is with a great sadness that the album ends at all.
This album combines ballads of an extremely high quality with faster paced tracks, all of which show off Casey’s fantastic vocals. There are so many brilliant songs on this album it is hard to pick a favourite. There is something here to suit everyone – fans of traditional country, modern country and pop. Casey covers all the bases and offers listeners a top class album.
