Wow, just wow!
Courtlyn Carr is a talented singer and instrumentalist hailing from Calvert County. Courtlyn comes from a family that has an incredible passion for music and it is that passion that has propelled her into the spotlight with her new release, a four track EP called TURN BLUE. Courtlyn has been studying music for many years and with this new EP she is reaping the benefits of that study by being able to perform music that she is proud of. Courtlyn’s first album ALMOST THREE was released when she was nineteen, since that release Courtlyn has matured both as a person and singer. All four songs were written by Courtlyn. Compared with the likes of Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride, Courtlyn has a lot to live up to but she does this with ease – in fact she shines. The EP kicks off with the title track Turn Blue. Courtlyn has a voice way beyond her years on this amazing ballad. This is a traditional sounding country song. Courtlyn’s vocals have a slight hint of Lorrie Morgan about them. This is a classy song of the very highest quality. How Great A Gift is a more upbeat song but it still retains a strong country vibe throughout. This is a song about the gift of love. Courtlyn’s vocals are polished and a delight to listen to. Tennessee Nights has a more modern country feel about it. Courtlyn’s vocals are charming and reminiscent in style of Pam Tillis. What Turns You On is a luxurious song with rich evocative vocals. A stunning song with a sultry sexy feel about it. Courtlyn puts a lot of passion into her vocals on this song, which rounds off the EP very nicely and leaves the listener wanting much, much more. This EP certainly has the wow factor.
