Amanda Nagurney CD Review

Amanda Nagurney
So Full Of Country
Self-released
***
This album certainly packs a punch!
Amanda Nagurney’s second album has a very modern country feel. Amanda, now twenty-one, began listening to country music at a very young age. By seven she was singing and performing but it was during a tour of the Ryman Auditorium that Amanda finally realised that country music was to be her destiny. Amanda has opened for acts such as Sammy Kershaw and Miranda Lambert, an artist she is often compared to. Amanda’s second album blends many styles and sounds together. It is a fun album with plenty of upbeat songs. The album starts off with a powerful song entitled Just Me And The Road. Although modern in style there is still a touch of traditional country mixed into the instrumentation. Amanda’s voice is light and pleasing on the ear. Gone Fishin is a typical modern country song. Amanda’s vocals on this song really bring it to life and make it that little bit different. White Dress is a pop/country song with an up-tempo feel. Don’t Leave Me Tonight is a slower song that comes to life through Amanda’s succulent vocals. Shop Around is a rousing country song. Shania Twain comes to mind when listening to this number. Mister Right is another classy modern country song. Amanda captures the mood of this song perfectly with her vocals. Tonight I’m Gonna Drink is a rocky song, which will appeal to fans of more rock styled modern country. Across The USA is a dazzling song about the soldiers or as Amanda puts it the heroes throughout America. A very patriotic song! So Full Of Country is a really rocky up-temp country song. Amanda gives this song her all. Listening to this song it is easy to see why she has been compared to Miranda Lambert. I’m Just A Country Girl is the final offering on this album. There is a shift in mood here as this is a much slower paced more traditional sounding country song. Amanda is an amazing singer there is no doubt about that. This album certainly packs a punch!
