The Ex-Boyfriend

He feels like his heart has been ripped from his chest
The pain is unbearable
He feels hollow and empty
He can’t think
He can’t feel
He wants to run but there is nowhere for him to go
In one cruel moment all of his hopes and plans for the future were destroyed
All that he believed in was shattered like a piece of glass
He feels like he is falling unable to stop
His life is spinning out of control
He is dazed and confused
His world has been turned upside down and inside out
His happiness has turned to anger and pain
Everything he had taken for granted has been cruelly taken away from him
He is alone once again
He is consumed by grief
He feels battered and bruised
The door to part of his life has been slammed shut
He has been abandoned and let down
The one person in the world that he truly believed in has turned her back on him
Walked away from the relationship without looking back
He feels shell shocked and weak
He feels like a gutted fish
He is hurt and feels betrayed
He gave his heart to someone he trusted more than life itself and she threw it back in his face
He shared his feelings and emotions with this girl, the girl of his dreams
The one he would one day marry
The one he would be with until he died
She found someone else and turned her back on him
No apology, no explanation
No goodbye
He feels used and cheap
Taken for a ride
He wants to cry but men don’t cry
He let his love for this woman take over his life and cloud his judgement
He was well and truly blinded by love
He wants to shout and let his anger pour out
He wants everyone to feel his pain and experience his suffering
Deep down inside he can’t hate her
He still wants her by his side and would welcome her back into his life with open arms
He may be a fool but he is a fool who is madly in love
He can’t forget the time they spent together
He can’t wipe out the memories they created
The good times they shared
The kind words spoken, the loving gestures, and the passion that burned like a flame between them
Sadly she doesn’t want him in her life anymore
She has moved on and found someone who she feels more compatible with
A new beau to have by her side
While he sits at home drowning in a sea of dark emotions she is out having fun
He has been deserted not only by his lover but also by his best friend
He tries to make sense of what has happened
He has got plenty of spare time to sit and think
He knows that he has to move on and find someone else
Rebuild his life
At the moment he feels like his life is on pause
He was obsessed by her
She was in all of his thoughts and dreams
She had ruled his life both night and day
Now he has got a big empty void to fill
While she is happy he is sad
He knows that he has to find strength and willpower to get on with his life
If he sits around dwelling on the past, the present and the future he will never recover
He will always be the ex-boyfriend
