Daisy shows maturity beyond her years
Sometimes an artist excites you so much you cannot wait to hear more. Daisy Mallory is one such artist. In 2009 at the age of sixteen Daisy released a five track mini album called I’M JUST SAYIN’. Daisy’s sound showed maturity and depth way beyond her years. Touted as a name for the future Daisy’s music combines country with rock and pop. Daisy’s new release, GIRL TIME, is another mini album that magically combines heartfelt lyrics with catchy melodies and Daisy’s amazing voice. Her songs swing between being anthemic in style to being emotional and fragile. Daisy easily combines upbeat tempos with slow drawn out ballads. Although she has been compared to Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift, Daisy doesn’t need comparing to other artists as she is a talent and a force to be reckoned with in her own right. Girl Time, the opening number is an upbeat modern country/rock song. Daisy’s vocals are polished and fresh. The lyrics are catchy and the instrumentation is lively enough to appeal to fans of both country and pop/rock music. This song could easily be a huge country cross over hit. Do You Think Of Me swings more towards country than pop/rock but still retains its fresh upbeat sound and style. Daisy’s vocals are powerful and really pleasurable to listen to. Daisy’s vocals on this song seem to fuse those of Kelly Clarkson and Martina McBride together. Grow Up Too Fast (If I Had A Little Sister) has lyrics that will appeal to many teenagers. Being so young Daisy is able to create songs that will lyrically and musically appeal to a younger audience, yet her vocals show maturity way beyond her years. When I Close My Eyes is a slow ballad. Daisy’s vocals are breathtaking. This is a beautiful song that envelops the listener in passion filled lyrics and glorious vocals. There are touches of Faith Hill running through this song. You Should Know is a folk infused pop/country song. Daisy’s vocals have more of a country/folk feel about them on this particular song. Right Here is a country song with a gentle feel, although still quite upbeat musically. Daisy’s vocals are softer here with a distinct edge. This is a great song, which allows Daisy to showcase her vocals, something she does with ease. This is without a doubt a collection of brilliant songs and Daisy Mallory is just glorious on each and every one of them!
