Stephanie Lambring CD Review

Stephanie Lambring
Lonely To Alone
Self-released
*****
Powerful lyrics blended with a traditional sound
Stephanie Lambring is a talented singer/songwriter who is in her senior year at Belmont University. Her debut album features eleven songs, ten of which were written by Stephanie. Stephanie’s biggest inspiration is the highly acclaimed singer Patty Griffin. The album kicks off with If I Knew, a gentle number, which showcases Stephanie’s beautiful vocals. Stephanie has quite an intoxicating voice. Tonight follows on in a similar vain. This is a wonderful song with delicate instrumentation and vocals. Quite a magical song! Lonely To Alone, the albums title song, is vocally strong. The lyrics are poignant and striking, certainly worth stopping and listening to. Forgotten Goodbye is a nice song that once again showcases Stephanie’s amazing song writing talents. Dear Cadence is a lyrically driven song. Avery opens with a burst of the cello. Stephanie sounds a lot like Alison Krauss on this dreamy number. Sober is a darker song with yet more fantastic lyrics. Baby One More Time sees Stephanie tackle the Britney Spears hit song and give it a country make over. Stephanie makes a good job of revamping this classic pop song. This new version has quite an enchanting sound. I think listeners will like this new version quite a lot. If I Could has a traditional sound again reminiscent of Alison Krauss. Vincent is a highly charming song. Stephanie has chosen an interesting subject to sing about here. Can’t Help Me Now the final song on the album is simple and slow paced. Stephanie’s debut album is full of top notch songs that have a traditional feel and very powerful lyrics.
