Sarah Marince EP Review

Sarah Marince
You’re My Summertime
Self-released

A name for the future
If you like modern female country singers then you are bound to love Sarah Marince. She has already opened for Taylor Swift and most recently met her idol Sarah Buxton. Sarah is a very girly girl. Her main passion is performing. Sarah has been compared to artists such as Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Faith Hill for obvious reasons. In 2008 Sarah moved to Nashville and instantly fell in love with the place. Sarah’s new EP release gives listeners a chance to really get to know her vocal style and familiarise themselves with her music. I Hope It Rains is a lively country/pop song. I am reminded straight away of Faith Hill’s smash country/pop hit This Kiss. Sarah’s vocals are classy and strong. The song is catchy and radio friendly. He Does is another Faith Hill sounding song. Sarah’s vocals are spot on here, reaching all the high notes and adding just enough tension and life to the song. Kiss You Like You’re Never Coming Back is a slow paced ballad, which really allows Sarah’s vocals to shine. This is a stunning song and Sarah completely does it justice giving it just enough emotion and passion. You’re My Summertime is a faster modern country song. I am reminded here of Martina McBride. Although the songs on this EP have a really modern flavour the instrumentation has a really traditional feel. Just Feel Right is a heavier country song with a rocky vibe. Sarah’s vocals appear to ease gracefully on this EP between slow and fast songs. Sarah Marince is definitely a name for the future. If her performance on this EP is anything to go by then I am sure she would be amazing to see live.
